Crisis Assistance / Help to Others (H20)
Many families in our community are facing serious financial crises due to being unemployed or living in poverty. Restorers Crisis Assistance Program provides a way to meet some of the needs for those residents who qualify and live in the geographical area of Restorers.
Assistance is given toward rent, utilities, and other emergencies. We view this program as our front door program, in which we are able to give a cup of cold water (H20) in Jesus' name.
However, we do not want people to stay in a state of crisis, and so we work with the families work with to help them move to the next steps necessary to avoid a repeat of the crisis.
Restorers connects the families we are working with to other Restorers resources, including Financial Freedom budgeting or Employment Assistance programs. Families receiving assistance are also asked to give back some of their time to the community by volunteering.
Funding for this program comes from the generosity of donations from members of Madison Square Church, through the Deacons fund.
