Financial Freedom

Often times there is more month left over than there is money, which can feel like bondage for those individuals and families in this situation.  Restorers has come to see and believe that financial literacy is becoming a crucial piece for all young people and adults. With the increase in use of credit cards, debit cards, & direct deposit, people see money less and less. Individuals are not being trained on how to manage their resources or how to make a budget they can live with, resulting in the lack basic money management skills.

Restorers offers (2) twelve week sessions during the Fall and spring of each year. A volunteer Financial Freedom Coach is provided for each family help them work on their budget and provide accountability for the goals they have set for themselves. A matching debt incentive may be provided as an incentive to help families see the 'light at the end of the tunnel'. This biblically based class covers a broad range of topics including but not limited to: saving to investing, insurance to credit reports, setting up and maintaining a budget, making wise credit decisions, knowing the difference between needs, wants, and desires, as well as other topics. Restorers also offers a more intensive one-on-one counseling for those who need additional assistance.
