Restorers has come to see and believe that financial literacy is becoming a crucial piece for all young people and adults. With the increase in use of credit cards, debit cards, & direct deposit, people see money less and less. People are not being trained on how to handle their money or how to make a budget they can live with. Individuals lack basic money management skills.
Restorers offers (2) twelve week sessions during the Fall and spring of each year. A coach volunteer is provided for each family to work on their budget and help to hold them accountable to the goals they have set for themselves. A matching debt incentive is designed to help families see the 'light at the end of the tunnel'. The biblically based classes cover a broad range of topics including: saving to investing, insurance to credit reports, setting up and maintaining a budget, making wise credit decisions, knowing the difference between needs, wants, and desires, as well as other topics. Restorers also offers a more intensive one-on-one counseling for those who need additional assistance.
